An alternative to Service Plan Software for heating and plumbing installers
This is for UK gas, heating and plumbing engineers who sell boiler service plans and want a Service Plan Software alternative: your area may already be taken, or you're after billing for your plans more than marketing around them. Service Plan Pro bills your service plans in pounds through your own Stripe account, and any number of companies in one area can use it.
Two things come first. Every member signs a digital service agreement before billing starts, and the signed copy is stored on their customer record. And the dashboard shows the monthly recurring revenue your plans bring in, worked out from your active memberships each time you open it.
No credit card required.
What Service Plan Software offers, in their words
Service Plan Software describes itself as a “marketing platform that allows you to automate communications with your customers based on different triggers (such as being due for a boiler service)”. Its founder writes that it “has been built with a focus on maximising the opportunity from boiler servicing”, and that it can also help sell boilers, bathrooms, air source heat pumps and air conditioning.
The homepage describes servicing reminders by email and SMS that check whether the customer has responded and remind them again, boiler servicing funnels with landing pages that feed a sales pipeline, and help setting up monthly care plans, with an automated upsell system to move customers onto them. The price is “£75 per month”, listed as covering a service reminder system, monthly plan sales funnels, a Service M8 integration, a text messaging system, a payment system, email marketing, social media management, review management, a landing page builder and blog management. Sign-up starts with a free 30 day trial.
Membership works by area. In their words, “Service Plan Software is only available to one company in each area”. The founder says the limit is there to give each member an edge by removing competition, and to build a mastermind group and peer-to-peer network.
Their site does not describe e-signature, a customer portal, an MRR view, failed payment retries, accounting sync or Stripe.

What Service Plan Pro does on the plan side
A signed agreement on the customer record. When you enrol a member, Service Plan Pro creates a signing link. The member reads an agreement that lists the plan, the price and the perks, and signs it with a typed or drawn signature, on their phone or on your tablet in person. Billing starts only after they sign. You edit the wording under Settings, and the signed copy stays on the customer record, including after a cancellation.
A live MRR view. The dashboard works out your monthly recurring revenue and active members from the memberships that are active each time you open it. At-Risk Customers lists every member whose payment is past due, beside the revenue at risk, so you know which accounts to ring before they lapse.
Card billing in pounds through your own Stripe account. Set your customer billing currency to GBP under Settings, and plan prices, agreements and charges are in pounds. After signing, the member enters their card on a Stripe payment page, and Stripe charges it on each renewal date and sends the receipt. The money settles into your own Stripe account, and there's no platform fee on your members' payments.
Recurring invoices with Pay Now. For members who'd sooner pay by bank transfer, a Recurring Invoice plan emails a branded invoice on the schedule you set, with the plan name, the amount and the due date. Each invoice can carry a Pay Now link that marks it paid when it's used, and you mark a bank transfer or cash payment paid from the Invoices page. If an invoice is still unpaid after the number of days you choose, an overdue reminder goes out on its own.
A visit schedule from the enrolment date. On a plan with visits, such as an annual boiler service, Service Plan Pro works out each visit date from the day the member enrolled. Visits show on the Schedule page, you mark each one complete, and you can download the whole schedule as a calendar file for Google Calendar, Apple Calendar or Outlook. You get an email each morning listing tomorrow's visits, and members get their own visit reminder.
Failed payments and win-back. When a card charge fails, Stripe retries it automatically over several days, and the member gets an email asking them to update their card in the customer portal. If every retry fails, the subscription is cancelled, you're told, and a win-back email goes to the member a few days later.
A self-enrolment link. Every plan has a shareable enrolment link for email, text or your website. The customer fills in their details, signs the agreement and adds their payment method, and the new member appears on your dashboard.
Each of these is described step by step in the documentation, and the service agreement billing page covers the same mechanics for every trade.
Setting up in an afternoon
Import your customers
Upload a CSV or Excel file, paste from a spreadsheet or pull from Google Sheets, and map your columns before anything is saved. Then, under Settings, connect your Stripe account and set the customer billing currency to GBP.
Build the plan from a template
Start from one of the plan templates, which fills in a name, a price, a visit frequency and member perks. Change each of them to match the boiler service plan you sell, and choose card billing or recurring invoices.
Send the agreement
Enrol your existing customers in bulk and each one gets their own agreement to sign. New customers enrol themselves from the plan's link.
First payments collect
Card members pay on the Stripe page straight after they sign, and they're charged on each renewal date after that. Invoice members get their invoice on the schedule you set.
What it costs
Starter is $29 USD a month for up to 100 active subscriptions. Growth is $59 USD a month for up to 500, and adds SMS notifications, churn tracking, the cash-collected chart and bulk plan changes. Pro is $99 USD a month for up to 5,000 active subscriptions, with a white-label customer portal and advanced reporting. Enterprise: More than 5,000? Talk to us.
Every plan includes the signed agreements, card billing and recurring invoices, failed payment recovery, the member portal and the MRR figure on the dashboard. There's a 14-day free trial with no credit card, and no platform fee on your members' payments: you pay Stripe's standard processing fee and the rest is yours. The full breakdown is in the pricing section.
Service plan billing for UK installers, answered
Service Plan Software is taken in my area. Can I use Service Plan Pro?
Yes. Service Plan Pro has no area limit, so two heating companies in the same town can both run their service plans on it.
Can I bill boiler service plans in pounds?
Yes. Set the customer billing currency to GBP under Settings, and your plan prices, agreements, invoices and card charges are all in pounds. Card payments settle into your own Stripe account. Your Service Plan Pro subscription itself is billed in US dollars.
Do I need job management or accounting software alongside it?
No. Service Plan Pro runs the plan, the agreement, the billing and the visit schedule on its own. ServiceM8 and QuickBooks Online are optional connectors: connect the first and each due visit also becomes a job card, connect the second and paid invoices, their payments and your Stripe payouts are posted to your books, each payout as one deposit with the fee on its own line.
Does it remind customers when their boiler service is due?
On a plan with visits, yes. Each visit date comes from the enrolment date, the member gets a reminder email before the visit, and you get a morning email listing tomorrow's visits. Card members also get a renewal reminder email in the week before each renewal. Landing pages, sales funnels and social media posts aren't part of Service Plan Pro.
No credit card required, and no limit on how many companies in your area can join.
