An alternative to Housecall Pro Service Plans for the agreement side
This is for companies that run Housecall Pro and whose plans need something Housecall Pro Service Plans handle differently: a signed agreement, invoices sent before the payment is due, or members who pay by bank transfer. Housecall Pro keeps the jobs. Service Plan Pro runs the agreement.
Two things come first. Every member signs a digital service agreement before billing starts, and the signed copy is stored on their customer record. And the dashboard shows the monthly recurring revenue your plans bring in, worked out from your active memberships each time you open it.
No credit card required.
How Housecall Pro Service Plans work today
Housecall Pro calls Service Plans “recurring memberships”. You build a plan template with the number of visits a year, a duration and a payment option of every month, quarter, six months or year. When a plan is sent to the customer, they accept it by entering a credit card, which is saved on file and charged automatically at that frequency, and they get an email receipt each time it's charged. The Service Plans dashboard shows your plans, expected monthly revenue, payments due for billing and visits still to schedule.
Three lines in their help centre shape the plan side. On invoices, the Service Plans FAQs say: “Invoices cannot be sent to customers proactively for them to pay online or be notified of an upcoming payment.” On cash, check or other plans not paid upfront, it's “up to you to collect on payments when they are due”, and those plans appear in the Due for Billing section. And when a plan is sent for the customer to accept, “Your customer will only be able to pay using a credit card, which is processed through Housecall Pro.”
Housecall Pro details read from their help centre on 2026-09-15. Their pricing page, read the same day, recommends a plan from a short quiz about your industry, team size and goals, and offers tailored pricing on a demo call, so this page doesn't quote a Housecall Pro price.
What Service Plan Pro does on the agreement side
A signed agreement on the customer record. When you enrol a member, Service Plan Pro creates a signing link. The member reads an agreement that lists the plan, the price and the perks, and signs it with a typed or drawn signature, on their phone or on your tablet in person. Billing starts only after they sign. The wording comes from a template you edit under Settings, and the signed copy stays on the customer record, including after a cancellation.
A live MRR view. The dashboard works out your monthly recurring revenue and active members from the memberships that are active each time you open it. At-Risk Customers lists every member whose payment is past due, beside the revenue at risk, so you can see which accounts to call before they lapse.
Invoices that go out before the payment. For members who'd rather not keep a card on file, a Recurring Invoice plan emails a branded invoice on the schedule you set, with the plan name, the amount and the due date. Each invoice can carry a Pay Now link, and a payment through it marks the invoice paid on its own. You mark a bank transfer or cash payment paid from the Invoices page. If an invoice is still unpaid after the number of days you choose, an overdue reminder goes out automatically, with an optional second reminder per plan.
Card billing through your own Stripe account. Card-billed plans charge the member's card through your own Stripe account on each renewal date, and Stripe sends the receipt. The money lands in your account, and there's no platform fee on your members' payments.
Failed payments and win-back. When a charge fails, Stripe retries it automatically over several days. The member gets an email asking them to update their card in the customer portal, where they also see their plan, perks, visits, signed agreement and billing. If every retry fails, the subscription is cancelled, you're told, and a win-back email goes to the member a few days later.
Each of these is described step by step in the documentation, and the service agreement billing page covers the same mechanics for every trade.
Running both, in three steps
Bring your customers across from a CSV
Housecall Pro's help centre covers the export: Customers, then Actions, then Export, and a CSV of your customer list arrives by email. Import that file into Service Plan Pro and map the columns before anything is saved. Nothing in Housecall Pro changes.
Set up the plans and enrol your members
Build each plan once, from a ready-made template that works for any trade, and choose card billing or recurring invoices. Enrol existing members in bulk and each one gets their own agreement to sign; new members enrol themselves from a shareable link. Once a member has signed here, cancel their Housecall Pro plan so they aren't billed twice.
Keep dispatch and one-off invoicing in Housecall Pro
There's no Housecall Pro connector, so plan visits don't appear there on their own. Each visit shows on the Schedule page in Service Plan Pro, and an email each morning lists tomorrow's visits. Download the schedule as a calendar file for Google Calendar, Apple Calendar or Outlook, and book each visit in Housecall Pro the way you book any job.
What it costs
Starter is $29 USD a month for up to 100 active subscriptions. Growth is $59 USD a month for up to 500, and adds SMS notifications, churn tracking, the cash-collected chart and bulk plan changes. Pro is $99 USD a month for up to 5,000 active subscriptions, with a white-label customer portal and advanced reporting. Enterprise: More than 5,000? Talk to us.
Every plan includes the signed agreements, card billing and recurring invoices, failed payment recovery, the member portal, the headline MRR on the dashboard and both connectors. There's a 14-day free trial with no credit card, and no platform fee on your members' payments: you pay Stripe's standard processing fee and the rest is yours. The full breakdown is in the pricing section.
Housecall Pro Service Plans, answered
Can I keep Housecall Pro and use Service Plan Pro for plans?
Yes, and that's the setup this page describes. Housecall Pro keeps quoting, scheduling, dispatch and invoicing for one-off jobs. Service Plan Pro runs the plan, the signed agreement, the recurring billing and the visit schedule. You can move members over in bulk or one at a time, and nothing changes on a member's Housecall Pro plan until you cancel it there. If you're also looking at Deepsel, another standalone tool that runs beside Housecall Pro, the Deepsel alternative page compares the two.
Does Service Plan Pro connect to Housecall Pro?
No. There's no Housecall Pro connector. Customers come in from a CSV you export from Housecall Pro, and visits go out as a calendar file you book from. The two optional connectors Service Plan Pro has today are ServiceM8 and QuickBooks Online. If a Housecall Pro connector would matter to you, say so on the contact form.
What about members who pay by bank transfer or cash?
Put them on a Recurring Invoice plan. They get a branded invoice by email on the schedule you set, pay it by bank transfer, cash or the Pay Now link, and get an overdue reminder if it slips. Every outstanding and overdue invoice is listed on the Invoices page, beside each member's payment history.
Can I use my own agreement wording?
Yes, on every plan. Edit the agreement template under Settings and every new agreement uses it, with the plan name, price and perks filled in for each member. The signed copy is stored on the customer record and stays there after a cancellation.
No credit card required, and Housecall Pro stays where it is.
